This is hardly of world importance, but if I get an email from AOL France, and there's a smiley, I can copy/paste, and it works in an outgoing Gmail.
But could anyone explain what I am doing (besides wasting your time)? The link is:
http://o.aolcdn.com/cdn.webmail.aol.com ... x/grin.gif
Is it going to be seen only if the recipient is online?
Just curious about the mechanics. Or whether it could be a spam magnet.

No smileys in Gmail - possible solution? But why?
