Do You Smell a Scam

Post by Hanorah »

Do you think this is a scam the long term dates lead me to beleive it might be but it does not have the usual detail plus they have provided 3 telephone numbers. Unfortunately we are booked for some of the period so probably could not help them any way but what do you think? I have removed the personal details.

What is that phone prefix? I don't recognize it, nor do I know the e-mail suffix. But that could be because I'm sleep-deprived today.

It could be a scam, but I think it's worth following through until you get more details and/or find out if they want to overpay you with a check. :) I might start out with a full-price offer; for a long-term rental I think most legitimate people would ask for a discount. So it could be useful to wait and see if they ask.

The telephone code refers to Macedonia (389)

.mk is the domain extension for Macedonia too.

I guess it looks strange that two people are booking a villa meant for 6 people - but it could be because it's a popular location and they're struggling to find places for long terms lets?

Difficult to see if it is a scam from the information provided.

There isn't enough information to say it is a scam. You'd find that out in the next email.
