Yep, I was thinking that too... I expect things like that from the scammers.
However, any typical citizen who is naive enough to take the scam at face value and doesn't mind doing what the e-mail suggests is the lowest of the low.
There must be people that fall for these, right? Otherwise, no one would try them. I wonder what their success percentage is. 0.1%? Less?

Without the refernece to 7/11 I was have laughted but there are some very strange people out there.

Oh yes, I read it -- for amusement purposes. Until I got to the September 11th bit -- then I was just amazed at what people will try.
Rather like the banner ad for insurance that was floating around the net in 2002 (I think). It showed a cartoon of a plane flying into a tower and then flashed to a blank screen with the words, "you never know what can happen." ...like, buy our insurance because we're unscrupulous enough to try and use a tragedy to make money.

The 7-Elevens in London were bought over by Budgens Supermarket (probably the worst grocery chain in the world) a few years ago and became "Budgens Express". The one near my friend in Crouch End (great name) London has bit the dust though so I don't know if BE's are history too.
I remember a stand up comic saying "If 7-Eleven's never close why do they have locks on the door?"
