Would love for the avatar dimensions and size limit to at least be doubled.
Then short replies would look like this

Actually, it is not so much the pixel size, but the overall file size. I had to reduce my avatar size loads and so am consequently very washed out colour wise and have bits missing. It is very difficult to get a gif working with the existing file size - I've complained before too! 12kb instead of 6kb would restore me to my full glory

Yea, really just a lil bigger file size would be awesome. I think most people working with vacation rentals are used to a lil extra download time because of all the pictures that are typically on sites..
Either way.

A larger file size limit (to 10 or 12k per image) would probably have no impact on the load time of any forum pages.
However, it may be difficult to change in the forum software. If it's a built-in variable that the user can change, great. If it requires messing with the code, I'm betting we'll have to stick with it.
It's pretty easy to stay within the current size limit if you don't have an animated avatar. All the same, LV, you could probably restore your image to its former glory with careful choice of a custom color palette.

I personally don't care about the file size within messages... but I'm still stuck with my Xmas avatar, because I did a back-up... and can't find a nice "purdy" pic of me in the right size to replace it with. But hey, I've just been lazy and haven't got around to it yet. I'll sort it soon... maybe a nice picture of my bottom. No? Ok - I'll stick to my smiley face then

FYI: Paolo gave me an update and see's no reason to change the avatar file size.
So for now, this is how it is.

Tried this yet? http://www.shrinkpictures.com/create-avatar/
It's free. I used a different site for the YHM Twitter account, and I've forgotten what it was. Will post again if I find it.
