Specifically - how to reply to rental enquiries!

Some online websites don't ask the enquirer to give their gender so you end up with an enquiry from A. Smith for example. Do you reply saying Dear Mr/Mrs or Ms Smith? It doesn't sound very friendly does it? How do you get round this?

If you wanted to be really friendly then just a simple "Hi" might be all you need to get the ball rolling?

Hi,

Hello,

Hello and thanks for your email,

Greetings earthling!

I have used three of the above without causing offence.

Paolo,

Aw, come on... what's wrong with "Hello and thanks for your e-mail"?

Good grief. You get enquiries from earthlings. I knew we were doing something wrong. Bring on the next Dr Who series.....

Speaking of Dr Who, I've just returned from the UK where I managed to catch 3 episodes of the new Dr Who and I loved it. The farting aliens were my favourite.

"yeahthatsrightyouheardme@"

Has anybody else had an enquiry from this e-mail address?
The enquiry was for train time tables from Turino and Marseille towards our property: no dates, no numbers. I decided I didn't want somebody who chose "yeahthatsrightyouheardme@" as an address - and I don't want to be a travel agent.
If anybody else has her/him as a visitor I'd be curious as to how s/he turns out. Maybe it's a poet , with a real flair for language and a highly developed sense of courtesy....... or maybe not.
Best,
Alexia.

Alexia,

I "bin" an awful lot of e-mails these days without ever remembering what they were. But, I am sure I would recall someone enquiring about railway timetables and I am doubly sure I would remember an e-mail address like that one.

The answer is NO!
