Pool problem

Post by cc »

Had the pool for 3 years now and we are in a very hard water area. I have never had a problem with the chlorine levels, the Ph gets a bit high but some acid reduces it. This last few weeks the residual chlorine levels are very high (the testing kit goes almost orange) but the Ph is still manageable. I asked at the local pool shop and looked around the net but have not come up with anything. The pool man said I need to add more chlorine which doesn't make sense as I assume that a high residual chlorine and Bromine level means that there is too much chlorine already in the water.
Any ideas would be very welcome.
