OK, Rabbit, spill the beans

Using press and magazine advertising, brochures, mailings - old hat or still cost-effective?

You lot are obviously subtle thinkers! I hadn't thought about causing confusion with "Press v. Press"  Although you can see why machine translation produces a few clangers..

"In the Press", perhaps?

TP - thanks for your comment about file extensions. You're right, they can mess things up (a lot). JPG v. jpg, for instance. Get it wrong and your image won't display. I think here, though, that you need Adobe Reader v8 or 9 to view the articles. You can download it here:

Or Foxit - a much better alternative to adobe! 2.55M as opposted to 20M, allows text conversion, loads quickly, you can annotate the pdf and no spyware.
Download it here and never suffer from the space hogging Adobe again!

I like the sound of the sea, RR. Our near-neighbour also has sound & it works well (see www.la-buanderie dot com). They're booked solid all year around so it isn't turning clients away. The sound doesn't go on all the time, though, which is the one tiny negative point about yours.
Whoops...... I see that "A place in the Sun" is a newspaper. I thought it was a tv series. Been gone a long time.

 Um, thanks Garri - you're right, it would be better, deffo....but can I face redoing and re-uploading every single html file for the zillionth time today?  I know, I know, there just has to be a better way.

I like Olive's sound compromise, so the waves are back on the homepage, as an intro. Calling LV: I expect to hear your promised sound effects posted asap - on the contact page, perhaps?

Laptop is obviously clogged up with all sorts of junk, rebooted and now all is well. Try that Ros.

While we're picking up on trivia, I've just looked at the file names of those PDFs.

Place In The Sun does indeed have an unfortunate acronym

I really liked the sound effects RR, it made it 'come to life' for me, admittedly the novelty wore off after a couple of minutes while I was reading the press/media articles but hey, I just turned the sound down then :D
Don't waste energy on things you can't change.
