I am also on HomeAway.co.uk although I live in France and the properties are in France. Weird ? Have you set a nightly/Daily rate, maybe its tied into that. The first thing I tried was getting rid of the nightly rate and leaving only weekly pricing, didn't help. Thanks to both of you for trying to ...

ABB works fine, just can't get Homeaway to do it!

I don't think anyone is singled out, but it's not uncommon for big sites to test different things on different sets of users. I am sending them feedback!

I think I must have a different interface than you because I don't see a calendar at all in my rates section, just a table with the different rates I already set and a place to add a new rate. I am in Italy, wonder if that makes a difference? Although I am on homeaway.co.uk, not the Italian version....

That truly is bizarre because it sounds like we have 2 completely different things, I don't have either "Allow check in" or "Allow check out" in the rates section, just a drop down menu for "changeover day" where I can specify a day of the week when I want bookings to s...

Sadly not, I just contacted support and they had this to say: "I'm afraid that option is not available at the moment. However, it has been under development as Many owners have said that they wish to see this implemented hopefully it will be available sooner rather than later" I was under ...

Homeaway bookings a week or 2 at a time, what to do?

I was shocked to discover today that, while you can set a fixed changeover day and a minimum number of nights for a booking on Homeaway, there now seems to be nothing to stop someone booking an 8 day stay and leaving you the rest of the week empty or anyway harder to fill. With a large villa and a v...

You can only post from a phone. This is what I do: Put the photos into Dropbox, it functions just like an extra folder on your computer. When you're choosing a photo in Instagram you'll find Dropbox under "other" in the drop down menu. Make a google doc with your tags you can edit it on yo...

Hi Beanie, no, property prices are low because of the overall stagnating house market, but they should soon be on the rise again (hopefully). My property in Umbria is doing very well, with most tourists coming from northern Europe (especially Germany) plus a few Italians in the low season. I am alm...

I agree with the others that the refugee crisis has had little to no effect on property prices or tourism. Property prices have fallen hugely and still not really recovering. It took us 2 years to sell a small flat in the suburbs of Rome and we lost 30% of its value. We did this in order to take adv...

A couple of things to share: there's a lot of articles out there about instagram, though not much specifically for holiday rentals. I did find a lot of good stuff here: http://www.theshopfiles.com/tag/instagram/ and especially the article about hashtags might be helpful: http://www.theshopfiles.com/...

Felicity if you're into photography you'll certainly enjoy it, and you'll end up discovering a load of interesting accounts to follow if you're anything like me. As for hashtags, basically the main way you will be found on instagram so it's important to use them well. You'll be wanting to use ones l...

So, as promised, a quick update on my instagram experiences after a week. First some hard data: I started my Instagram account just over a week ago and over 6 days I posted 28 times. My followers have gone up and down but I'm currently at 150. My Google analytics show 5 instagram referrals to my web...

Amandajane yes I have a good stock of photos now from the area, and plan to do more of the inside and around the house next time I'm there, especially close up and vignette type photos. It does help that I really enjoy photography. People who live on site have it much easier! Martha your feed is be...
