Hi - Amazon sells a range of replacement filters for Henry vacuums and they're not expensive. I wouldn't put a filter in the machine to wash it. If you just want to clean your existing one up, brush it with a nailbrush dipped in bicarbonate of soda, that'll neutralise any niffs. I often put a few dr...

This looks interesting, but I see that you ask for it to be left for the caretaker to collect. Would you ever see it if it said the cottage had not been cleaned to the required standard???? I'm on site, so I do changeovers myself, but this 'template' could be adapted as an email attachment as an al...

I leave a 'visitors book' for guests to leave their comments in - there's also a pad of 'Suggestions' forms in the Guest Info file, but there's also this: http://www.myholidaycottagemarketing.uk/sites/default/files/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/Feedback-form-template.jpg which could be tailored as...

Thanks, all.... Ended up buying one of these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Philips-DCM2055-System-Wall-mountable-player-Black/dp/B007DAMT4U/ref=cm_cr-mr-title Used a CD to test out the sound, and was really impressed, so have got rid of the old hi-fi, which was beginning to look more and more like a coff...

Again, thanks for your input.. Yes, some of my guests use the CD player using discs from the library - the audio books and some classical albums seem popular, especially with my lovely 'older' couples. Many of my guests have tablets, e-readers and phones, all of which need charging up, (and hopefull...

Thanks again everyone for your kind replies. Kevs- I have copied you and gone for something similar to the Orico charging hub after reading your post because that looks like a decent piece of kit. Now I'm after picking all your collective brains again - you'll have to forgive me, but I'm on a bit of...

Note: The charger you link to is only 22W, 4.5A for 4 devices. If you were buying that it would be worth going for a higher power one as many devices need 2A for charging. Thanks so much for that useful info, kevs. I don't possess much in the way of electronic devices (or technical know-how), so I'...

Docking stations for Tablets/IPod etc
I've been looking into the possibility of providing a 'Universal' docking rack for guests to be able to charge up their electronic gadgetry all in one convenient place. Something along this line: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Avantree-Universal-Organizer-Smartphones-Powerhouse-Charging-Station-Black-22-5W...

I'm a bit puzzled by this government legislation that's come into effect since 1st October. I've been happily (well, grumpily) self-assessing my fire risk 'obligations' and doing weekly tests of my Fire and CO alarms, (of course I do! Where did I put that log book?... ) but I've had a letter from th...
