Insurance
NFU will quote if you live in the house.
I have just taken out insurance with Schofields.
Had a quote from Towergate who told me they do not cover theft of anything at all by guests as they have been invited into the property. Schofields on the other hand do cover this.

Starting Up - Estimating Usage of Gas / Electric & Water
Thank you for your replies everyone.
Perhaps my guesstimate of £100 a week for gas, electric & water might be too high.

Cottages.Com
I had the rep from Cottages.Com in to view my property this week. I did tell him that the prices he proposed would not give me very much profit & in the winter months, probably none, & I was not running a charity. He also admitted that he books his holidays abroad through Airbnb despite rubb...

WiFi Hotspot Software & Fire Extinguisher Sizes
Hi everyone. I have a new holiday let which isn't quite up and running yet. I have Sky TV and WiFi ready to go. Apparently, it is not legal to give guests free access to the WiFi. Can anyone recommend HotSpot software or some sort of Gateway Access where guests have to log in to gain access? I obvio...

Business or Domestic Electricity
Hi - I was looking into this myself recently & saw something online which said that on a business contract you are locked in for a specific amount of time & have to give notice to leave, whereas on domestic you can chop & change if you wish - so for a small business holiday let it would ...

What washes & irons well, doesn't bobble & lasts?
(Greenbarn - thank you for that). I had a pre-check by a VE assessor who told me a minimum 200 thread count would be needed if I was aiming at 5* but you are correct - it only states "high quality linen" in the QA booklet. I wonder if Polycotton percale will last well, bobble or feel good ...

Thank you for your replies - much appreciated.
I am now deciding which cotton to get as I need to have minimum 200 thread count. (Visit England) I want to use a laundry service & the only one in my area uses a normal household iron. They have said they can't get the creases out of John Lewis & The White Company Egyptian cotton sheets. An...

90 x 100 beds - Nightmare size - bedding query
Hi - I am trying to find Egyptian Cotton sheets to fit 90 x 200 zip & link beds. I need white and so far have only found Bedding Direct to have these in stock. Which thread count is best for being crease free in your experience? I'm hoping to send to Johnsons laundry service, who say they cannot...
