Suspending/reactivating Orange home internet

Hi all, I would like to suspend my Orange internet at my property in France. I haven't done so in a few years. The last time I did it I had to send a letter to Orange to request this (what a pain). Then, when I wanted to reactivate it, I had to call them. My question is, has this process become easi...

What colour should I choose for new towels?

After many years of use, it is time to update my batch of white towels

What colour should I go for? Grey, brown, etc or stick with white?

And what shops in France do you recommend buying from?

Thank you!

Different ideas for paying our cleaner...?

Hi all, I have a rental property in France and I live in the UK. I have an excellent cleaner for the France property and I'm very happy with her. I pay her €60 for a changeover which works out as €10-12 per hour. I have not given her a raise in about 5 years and I'm thinking it's about time I do. I ...

If it falls within the zero tax band, do you know of any way I could forgo doing a French tax return? (as you can see I'm desperate to avoid any further dull paperwork and bureaucracy in my life!) Is there any way I can avoid declaring myself at the Mairie? Other than to stop renting out my home And...

Thanks Mas B. I'll keep that in mind. What kind of fee does he charge, if you don't mind me asking? I'm hoping to avoid paying for an accountant tbh. I do my own tax returns in the UK and it would seem a false economy to pay someone to do my french-side accounts for one small property that only gros...

Do you do your own French tax return or do you employ an accountant?

Just got a letter from my Mairie - advice please

Hi, I just got the following letter from my Mairie: "Objet : Déclaration des meublés de tourisme Monsieur, Vous louez depuis plusieurs années un gîte sur la commune de X J ’ai l’honneur de vous rappeler qu’en tant que propriétaire exploitant un gîte, la loi vous fait obligation de le déclarer a...

Help needed with taking bookings from the darling Frenchies

Hi all, It's been a while since I've been on here. Having had a quick scan, it brings great comfort to see all the usual suspects are still alive and kicking. I hope you are all well. I'm getting more and more enquiries from French people. However, I seem to upset their sensibilities more often than...

Will a wireless router bought in UK work in France?

I'm thinking of buying a second hand router on Ebay UK to take over to my property in France. The router will be something like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271150587774?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 Does anyone know or have any experience about whether it would work in F...

I also went through this with Richard too.

I trialled PIMS but it's not right for me at the moment.

Richard is great to deal with though. Very straight and professional. He seems like a good chap.

Possible to automatically update OD + HL calendars?

Here is my scenario: I advertise with OD and HL. I'm getting fed up with the time it's taking to update the availability calendars each time I take a booking. I know HL can be contacted to request a 'secret RAUS key' which can be used to automatically sync the HL's calendar to one of my choice. My q...
