Hi Siesta, Be careful about renting your apartment out in Mallorca and especially putting it on sites like that. It could be illegal and you or probably one of your renters might get a visit from the inspectors. Don't forget the hotel lobby are very strong in the Balaerics and don't like competition...

Thanks for your comments. They said they are after a quiet holiday for a week and 3 of them are male. The girl who is making the booking said she was in the resort last summer and enjoyed it. I have just replied to them that I find them a bit too young to stay in my apartment and in a resort which i...

Four younger renters? Should I take them?

So, I had a request for four young Europeans. Ages are 23,18 and two 17 y/olds. I normally rent to couples and families and the 23 y/o kindly asked me if it would be a problem, but I am not sure about whether to take the booking and if I do under what terms. I prefer to give them the benefit of the ...

I'm not sure about B&B's but for self catering accommodation, I tend to get a lot of enquiries and bookings from immoweb.be. Just make sure you have your listing both in dutch and french though.

I gave up renting my small flat out as a holiday let years ago. It is just not worth the hassle, although I do let family and friends (and returning renters) use it to help me cover my costs. I know a lot of apartment owners do it, but if you are going to advertise it on the internet then be careful...

No, most deliver for free to the whole of the island if it is more than say a certain amount (300€ at my favourite http://www.muebleslafabrica.com/tienda-muebles-manacor). If it's not included then ask that they deliver it for free as part of the deal.

Head to Manacor on the east side of the island. It's the furniture town on the island with the factories that make it in the neighbourhood. I have bought nearly all of my furniture there and I find it generally very well made but make sure you negotiate to get a bargain.

I also seem to be plagued (almost weekly) by Indian accented calls from a similar number +44 2071936736 and company claiming that they are working with British Airways/Iberia/etc companies with people who are interested in booking the apartment. I ask them which one (I only have one) and they haven'...

I just received an enquiry from them and have never ever advertised with them.

I believe that using such underhand tactics just shows how unprofessional and desperate they are. Avoid!

Re: sunnyrentals

I had a call a couple of days ago from Denmark (based on the phone number) from a guy with a strong Indian accent speaking both French and English inviting me to advertise our properties in France with sunnyrentals. I duly received their email giving all the details as others have described above. ...

I would advertise it at 490 or 499 instead of 510. It always looks cheaper!
