This came through this afternoon from our local tourist body basically saying what Bassman said. Rather disappointing as after speaking to my insurer (MAIF) they said I didn't have to do a refund of anything and nor was I obliged to offer a replacement. The insurance said that they also wouldn't be ...

To be honest my bookings have fallen off a cliff over the last 2 years and I'm now running at a loss due to large mortgage. Last year I thought it was because I'd taken my eye of the ball, but this year it's not the case. No bookings in June, Sept or Oct. Brittany Ferries is much ahead on actual inc...

So Yapstone say that we are not obliged to accept this but there will be a further 3% on payments for an immediate payout rather than waiting til check-in.

There will be a further email from Yapstone which will give you an option to opt-in to advanced payment.

HomeAway Email re payment after check in

Hello all Has anyone received an email from HomeAway announcing that payments will now happen after check-in. A massive disaster for me - I'm going to have to find about 15k€ in mortgage payments to cover the delay in payments. Have spoken to HA who say this out of their hands its Yapstones doing. B...

The HomeAway group has always worked well for me. Take the international choice. Booking.com works very well, for short notice bookings and short stays. But their charges are huge so I increase my prices to match. Airbnb gives me a few long bookings every so often.

We have a lot of longer bookings in the 2 bed gîtes. In one we have 4 months of longer bookings and 2 1/2 in the other one. Otherwise not much yet. Last year we ended up pretty full from last minute short bookings from booking.com. 6 bed beach house has had August booked for over a year, now has boo...

Been in the house 22 years only moving because recently married my second French husband and moving in with him. My kids were born here and it's been a very good experi...

Well that seems to have been a success - nice one all. I have just had a phone call from some mignon saying that the house will be cleared out tomorrow and that the cleaner can go in on Friday. I said that anything that was left on Friday I would assume was for the tip!! Blood great. I've got my aft...

Thanks everyone. Kay great advice. Hi FC. Here is my proposed email - any thoughts? Hi X I am writing to ask what we should do with the boxes and freezer that you have left at Maison Mielles. Yes definitely holiday let. I think tomorrow I will try again by phone and send another email. I guess I will have to try and go over myself tomorrow - otherwise it will be after the holiday which is rather a long time to let things "go on". I will look at the DIY store tomorrow at locks t...
