How to take payment from long-term renters?

I have received an enquiry for a long-term let (6 months), and obviously I am going to offer a very good discount, but my question is: How do you usually take the payment? Requesting the renter to pay the whole 6-month rent in advance, might not be a good option (for the renter). But the other optio...

Good to hear that HSBC only charges 6 Euros for international transfers. I have a Euro account in addition to Sterling and USD, so I hope that is going to work. I have added a T&C to my website, and I think it's a good idea to include what you mentioned about bank charges. I have also put a chec...

Some questions about bank transfers

Having used only Rentalsystems for payments since I started up, I have now decided to switch to accepting bank transfers instead. I get plenty of enquiries but this year so far only one has turned into a booking. I suspect that some of the reasons could be: - I offer only payment by credit card. - R...

PIMS rental management system versus bookingtracker

I was wondering if anyone has experience of both these management systems (PIMS rental management system and bookingtracker or bookingtracker.com). I have looked at the features of both, and would appreciate to know which one could be considered the better one.

Thank you all for your contributions. Seems I should choose to accept bank transfers instead of using Rentalsystems.

I had originally planned to use Paypal, but because I am resident in Qatar, it hasn't until recently been possible to receive money (only send). Paypal also charges something like 3.4%, so that's another card fee that would scare people off (plus Paypal's reputation for withholding people's money do...

Last minute change-of-mind results in no booking

I am wondering why quite a few inquiries this summer, which were just about to turn into bookings, instead turned into nothing. What I mean is that out of all the people who sent follow-up emails (after getting complete price quote) saying basically "ok, where do I go to do the booking?", ...

After a 10-day delay, I finally got a reply to my support ticket from Rentalsystems. Their reply did not resolve my issue, as it claims things that simply aren't true. My issue is that before they updated their website, it was possible to choose whether you wanted your ad to appear on Villarenters o...

I'm also still waiting, since 10 days, for Rentalsystems to reply to my email. My problem is that since they upgraded their website, it seems there is no option to turn off your property from getting listed on Villarenters. If I select "Advert off", under Properties, the renter can't book ...

It's Paypal's reputation for freezing funds that keeps me away from them. And it seems to be the same with 2co.com. Maybe I will still have to try. BTW according to Paypal, their virtual terminal is only available to US-based customers.
Thanks

Rental systems and availability calendars

Hello everyone :D, I'm just starting up as a rental owner, currently building a website for my holiday home in Turkey. I have 2 questions: Q1: I've been browsing this forum for info on credit card payment processors, among them Rentalsystems. Although it may be practical to have the whole renting pr...
