Martha, I wrote a very nice letter to them suggesting some changes for those that don't run a 600 room hotel. I posted it and it ended up on their community forum! Which is more than useless. Does anyone have an email address where a human may receive it? We have always had a response from their su...

Yikes! A scary new observation about airbnb: As a guest, when you do a search and lets say, you just choose location and dates, then did you know that silently, the website automatically adds a filter to only show properties with instant booking. Its not a case of giving those properties priority; ...

To answer my own question, YES! Not sure if they monitor these groups, but shortly after posting the question and then switching on Instant Book, there was a flurry of bookings 4 in one day (for one property), unheard of for us! There did not seem to be any change in the sort order of properties, we...

In fact, Airbnb is fine when only renting a spare room. Years ago Airbnb started with only a bit of B&B. People booked only a few nights. Yes that is how they started but now their valuation exceeds all the hotel chains and their market share dwarfs the other suppliers such as HA. This is evide...

This site came up a couple of days ago when I was researching the market in our area, got a bit of a fright to see all of the offerings! While the aggregation is not perfect yet, it is a site that seems very useful for holidaymakers looking for rented holiday accommodation. The interface is simple, ...

Does AIRBNB Instant Booking give better results?

AirBNB used to be our main provider, they have almost disappeared from view this year.

We do not use instant-book.

Does anyone have any evidence that enabling the instant-book increases bookings?

Re: End of Season Thoughts

Some guests arrive obviously stressed-out and pretty uncommunicative, leaving us wondering if they've picked the right place for them. A few days into their stay, they are like totally different people, chatty, relaxed and actually looking better, less pinched in the face. Some guests leave the cot...

Hi Newtimber, no its not the BC listing dilution, we only listed with them a few months ago and have only had one booking through them.Since then have just about de-listed (too hard for us!)

90% of are bookings are through AB with the make up from FK/HA/HT

Its strange that our results did not meet expectations. When we started in 2012 we deliberately made our property name a little bit unique and the same on all listing sites as well as our own. This morning (after clearing the cache) I did a search and AB appears as the very first item, then Booking....

We've had a massively varied set of guests via Airbnb... Support when needed has always be first class AND responsive. Everything, commissions, booking fees, etc have always been up front. ....we'd be real happy if we exclusively used Airbnb for the apartment and villa. We'd have all the (quality) ...

AirBNB Spam?

Anyone else received calls, and emails from AB trying to sell vacant periods? Received a phone calla few days ago ''from AB'' Lillyana saying that they had a customer wanting to stay for two nights but our minimum stay was 3 nights. Immediate thought- scam. Told my other half to end the call. Then f...
