When we 4 years ago started with Booking.com, cancellation level was less than 10%. Now its approx. 75%. Given personal details was never an issue, even like charging down payments. Now THEY try to changed OUR conditions. I can’t imagen that anybody who is serious working in this business, is happy ...

We got nearly every week a booking (sometimes twice) trough Booking.com, which would be cancelled as soon as we send the PayPal details for the down payment of 35%. Booking.com is like a flea market for us, people shopping around and drop us like s***, when they found something cheaper. In the meant...

There are working real people there .… :) not those frustrating call centre donkeys, who never can be contacted again with questions! Hope that they generate some enquir...

Thanks Essar for the link, but I think to be honest that we have to use a Spanish insurance broker/company instead of an English, because we are a Spanish company. And wat happends after the Brexit ... I have send them an enquiry, so will see how they respond. Will you be willing to attend a c...

Good idea but why don't you just self insure, ie, underwrite the risk yourself. Collect say 5 gbp per booking as premium and just pay out on say medical emergency not change of mind We offer this insurance for free to the guests when they book. Just for the peace of mind. Sometimes we have bookings...

So how will this work - you will be the client of the insurance company, I presume, and not your guests? Or do you just pay the premium like the travel agents used to and banks now do The idea is that we forward the guest-booking details to the insurance company and we pay the premium. When there i...

cancellation insurance for guests

. We get sometimes questions from guests about travel- and cancellation insurance. Now we thinking to offer all our guests a free cancellation insurance for the period that they can´t cancel without losing the down- or final balance payment. We think that we can use this as a good selling point agai...

When they take over 80% of my business ..... I can´t even pay my mooring fees anymore

Maybe they take over my boat & business and change the name in MY Google? :D

If more savvy guests look for me elsewhere and book via my website then good for them. I agree, we have now more than 50% direct bookings, but ....... how long will it take before the robber barons will block this? Don´t say that´s not possible, if I had forcasted the present situation 10 years ago...

Be awere for eCheck by PayPal!

Last week we got late in the evening a last minute booking (for the next day) by phone and email from a son for his parents. We send him the usual info and it was OK. He want to give us his credit card details, but we refused that, and told him that we will send him a PayPal invitation in a few minu...
