More thanks go to you all - it is very helpful to have fellow holiday let owners reviewing the website. I am still getting on to some high res photos so that is definitely an improvement that will be made soon. My son dabbles in websites and set it up from a basic Wordpress template. I have been the...

About oil - you can belong to an oil cooperative and still ask for a small tanker. If you can't find a cooperative, you can hook into the 'buying weekends' of the bigger suppliers. And make sure you order your winter oil by September to get the summer prices. We moved from all gas in the town to oil...

Booking.com
Hi all! I have been looking at booking.com as a possible rental listing site but before I register, I thought I would check with all of you whether anyone uses it, what it generates, how they work etc. it's not immediately obvious on their site!

I am so intrigued about the journal of the teddy bear mascot who lives at the cottage!! Tell me more please?? I think you have been more than patient and generous to your agent so far and I think I would be putting my toe gently up their backside and booting them into a new world - one that doesn't ...

All really helpful thank you! Just the sort of comments I need to keep me on track with the growth of the website. I was going to add a description of the Lodge on the front page last week, because I realised we didn't tell anyone what our offer is but hadn't got round to it. I have only started sho...

Just started! Views please
Hi all, I have just started a website and before I go any further, I would value your views. I am waiting for some higher res photos so the ones on the site will be replaced at some point soon! I feel nervous about sharing so early, but better to get feedback before I go too far, I think! www.greena...

Toiletries and hotel supplies
Hi all, I remember somewhere on here reading a thread about toiletries and linen suppliers but I can't find it! I would like to find something nice to put in our holiday let bathrooms so if anyone has a great supplier, I would love to know! We have taken an inordinate length of time to get our let r...

We have wooden work tops in our own kitchen and I have spilt plenty of stuff on them but never seen a reaction like this! They are only from Wickes so nothing particularly special and we aren't that good at oiling them!! The only places that will stain are areas that have not got much oil left, like...

Paperwork
As a single letting property owner on our own house land, what paperwork would you advise we use with potential users of the property? I want to keep it simple but don't want to miss anything crucial!
