The European press in English? any recommendation?
The European press in English? any recommendation?
Can anyone recommend a serious, balanced, online EU newspaper or two, or three, published in English?
Just found this one

Some of my UK rellies (under 30's) would like to know what the EU press is saying without it being fed to them through the BBC.

tavi, probably not what you are seeking but have you tried off-guardian?
Set up by a bunch of Guardian readers who tired of their comments on articles in the on-line paper being modified or removed (especially comments on Guardian sacred cows like Israel and the Blairite New Labour), so they published their own version.

tavi, this is an interesting (and hopefully valuable thread) if more people chip in with their favourites. I've read a lot of alternative on-line news stuff, too, since I became disillusioned (to put it mildly) with mainstream press/media bias and lies.
A good rule of thumb (for me) with British news outlets has been how they've treated Jeremy Corbyn since his resounding victory in the Labour leadership contest. Hopefully, I might be able to apply the same filter to how European news media treat the referendum result.

I think this maybe subscription outside of Malta, but they may have a free period.
There was a cartoon in last Malta Sunday's Times that made me laugh - a line of lemmings all holding union jacks running off the cliff.
There is a poll in today's paper
After the Brexit vote, Britain should be:-
Urged to leave the EU now =34%
Given all the time needed to leave = 17%
Urged to hold a second referendum = 27%
Convinced to remain in the EU = 20%
Total number of votes: 10534
Sizeable British Expat community here so not sure of the representation.

A friend sent me the links today today saying it's an
alternative news site, ... It has a grassroots/academic base and so far it seems quite informative. It's a bit like 'Information Clearing House', although probably more European focused. There will no doubt be articles you disagree with but in terms of providing insight into what's going on, it seems excellent. Certainly more informative/analytical than our main stream newspapers.
