Google Analytics question

Everything to do with using your own website to advertise your rental property. Design, usability, hosting, getting listed on the search engines, optimising your site, pay-per-click, etc, etc.

Google Analytics question

Post by Speyside Steve »

I think I am being stupid, but one of my most popular keywords from Google is "not provided".

Does anyone know what this means?

About a year ago, Google decided to hide people's search terms if that person has signed into their google account.

Therefore, for these people, you will always get a "not provided" message in Analytics.

Why would they want to allow people to hide their search terms?
Isn't that counterproductive and of no use to the customers of google analytics (i.e. the ones who pay, and who pay because they want to gather that sort of information).
Or am I missing something?

Thanks for this link, KC. I will try to set up a filter and see if I drill deeper into it.
