Fire Risk Assessment

Post by TGS »

Hello all!

Things trundling along nicely here with my purchase of 7 holiday let flats. Still in the 'top secret' phase as buyers haven't told their extended family yet.

Building surveyor in today which is the last big hurdle to cross. Everything else pretty much OK. A few niggley bits but no deal breakers so far. Hopefully, we can go public with it by the weekend.

There is a basic fire risk assessment in place, but my solicitor has recommended that I get a professional one done and he recommended a local company who have just quoted me £450 + VAT.

Now, I have done fire risk assessments before in my previous life as a Practice Manager and co owner of a dental surgery and from memory it was a combination of a tick box exercise combined with common sense.

Has anyone any thoughts?

:) :) :) :)

I did my own fire risk assessment using the template in the document below:

https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... ing-guests

If you have not read it I would start there.
