If you look back through all the posts in this thread and peel out only the questions from UNA the original poster and the replies from me to her (not to other posters) you will see a clear helpful line. There are also two posts from you and someone else with recommendations for an online assessor. UNA picked up on one of these but they don't do tourist tax.
Here in Catalunya you have to notify the Police online within 24 hours of arrival with all passport details for EVERY member of the group and you have to collect the tourist tax. Then every quarter you have to pay the tourist tax and it ain't easy.
YES someone to sort out tax is a wonderful concept but they can only sort out your tax if you're sorted out yourself. They don't have a magic wand. Nobody can pay the tax on your behalf if it hasn't been collected right in the first place.
You may be lucky and have someone to do everything for you but that kind of agent/gestor/assessor is extremely difficult to find here. It is very time consuming and difficult to do at an economic rate. It involves hours of work. In addition they changed the system as of 1st October. It's supposed to be easier but the site went down for maintenance on the first day of the new system.

UnaGodwin wrote:The agent we used is paying the touristic tax .. they said before the 20th October deadline . One can then assume that passport details etc would of been provided to the Police as required So that clears that up.
Una's remaining query related simply to fulfilling her income tax reporting obligations. There are tax advisers all over Spain, including Catalunya, and their rates are not that high when you weigh them up against the pure torture of dealing with the whole sh1t heap yourself.
