Smart electric meters

There has been a widespread campaign in 2014 and 2015 to change all the old meters in Spain to the new smart type so that we won't have the visiting meter reader. In most areas it hasn't gone live yet although many meters have been installed. If you have an apartment in a block you won't probably know it has been changed unless you came across the new contract in your mail.
It will undoubtedly result in higher bills for most of us but the real problem for holiday lets is that if your renters plug in too many things it will kick off the meter and they won't know how to reset it. In most cases they won't even know where to find it. In an apartment block they are in a locked cupboard and "Who has the key?"
THIS IS VERY DIFFERENT TO THE DIFFERENTIAL KICKING OFF.
