Buying beds in Europe

Post by scowen »

I've been reading the forum and looking at the recommendations for buying beds, but most of them are in the UK and charge a lot for delivery to mainland Europe (if they deliver at all). We're located in Hungary and it's hard to find things here, there is an Ikea but its over a 2 hour drive and I hear delivery is vey expensive. Does anyone in mainland Europe have any sugestions on websites to look at for beds? we are looking for zip linked divans I think.

Thanks a lot in advance

I have purchased most of my beds in IKEA i am not a fan of the divan sort i am afraid so i stick to the seperate bedframes ,wood slats, and mattresses as all parts can be purchased seperate so if you have to replace also you can adjust to suit you budget

One thing before you purchase beds think about your market ( guests) as to the size of the beds as i have the german size beds and layout
( 2 mattresses on a double frame ) and my total bed size is 180cm x 200cm which i think if you convert it in to english the nearest is king size !! The size may also dictate the bedding
I know some english owners that purchased everything in the uk and the european guests complain about the bed size & they are quite supirised that staying in german accomodation to find things in a english quality/style/size confusing

Here in germany there are also some companies that specialise in hotel furniture it my be worth " googling " or if you have a large hotel in a main town speak to their houskeeping as to where they source their divan style beds after all they will need good quality beds to deal with the turnover of guests so depending on your budget and quanity if this is an option

So think first as to your market and how many rentals you intend to have over the season as to the budget /quality can you replace parts or have to replace the whole bed /cleaning etc......
When it comes to wine, I tell people to invest in a good corkscrew. The best way to learn about wine is the drinking

The truth is the best German wine remains in Germany
