Hi there,
I am new here and have a question about the French tax return process. I am non-resident in France and rent my French house to tourists. I have chosen pay the taxes under the Regime Micro Entreprise. My question is: do I have to register first as a Micro Entreprise before I do my taxes? If so, how do I do this?
I have asked at the mairie but they instructed me to contact the tax office at the prefecture....I will do this if required but thought I would try you all first.
Many thanks!

Hello Canadiangal, as far as I know the regime is just something that you select on the tax form. I select MicroBIC as I only have small earnings. I don't think you have to register in any way to use your chosen regime. I, too, am non-resident. If anyone disagrees, perhaps they could join in the debate.
I thought you had to be resident to be ME but it seems the rules have been changed since I moved from micro bic in 2011.
