Hi there, can anyone advise on tv in France, we are about to buy a set for our holiday home and as we have an aerial and lead from the roof is it a matter of simply plugging in ?
Also will we need to replace our English video and dvd players for French models ? Regards Bill
T.V. In France
Hi Bill, yes, at the moment for terrestrial TV it is that simple, if you get a new TV it should self tune into the 6 channels, if it doesn't, the logo is on the screen for each channel in the corner of the screen to make it easier for you. The video and DVD players should both work no problem - the only difference is that if you play French videos they will be in black and white and not colour. Does anyone still watch videos??

Susan, I hope you're not being serious - I can see about a dozen advantages of good old videos over DVD, even if the only one was the 50% failure rate on recording progs. on DVD - and it isn't just me judging from a straw poll of other DVD users.
I'll start another thread to rant rather than divert this one.
