Chinese Scam

Post scam emails to warn other rental owners, or if you are not sure if an enquiry is genuine, put it up here and see what others think.

Chinese Scam

Post by losttheplot »

Any body had any experience of Chinese holiday let scams?- a quick google search suggest that this is another high risk scam area.
I am in dialogue with a Chinese lady who seems to gearing up for a scam -the ip adress says she's emailing from Australia (with a yahoo address) even though she seems keen to visit the apartment before booking (that's a long trip for a look-see!). This makes me suspicious. I don't want to see scammers behind everything but I have mentioned the Australia thing to her and wait to see the response. Not sure I want to arrange preview visits- seems a bit OTT for a £350 rental in February!

I will update on any developments but wondered if anyone had had a similar enquiry.
