Do you ever get this sort of thing? It's noit exactly a scam, though it's obviously not a genuine enquiry either. What do you think it is?

We get lots with either total gobbledygook like this, or words (tory is popular at the moment!), or complete blanks, or masses of hyperlinks mainly for viagra etc.

I don't usually try to work out what they are doing - just checking that an email address works? Occasionally we have had 50-60 of these in a day which is hugely irritating.

Yes, they do often come in blocks. This came alone, but sometimes I've had 9 or 10 one after the other. Never had 50 or 60 though - how annoying!
