I've also just (today) received an identical enquiry claiming to be from Allex Anthony via my listing on franglo.com

Absolutely the same enquiry wording used, all in capitals and vague about the rent of my apartment (not Gite) that he wants for the whole of July.

Searching for "Allex Anthony Rent" in Google I also turned up this as a scam posting warning on http://www.directholidaylets.com/scam-attempts.html so it's obviously doing the rounds.

With all this stuff, why not forward to abuse @ hotmail, yahoo etc., with the original headers, and 'suspected 419' as the subject?

It stops immediately, and his hundred or so potential scams just evaporate. Public duty and all that.....

Good idea. I've just done that, forwarded the email to abuse@hotmail.co.uk and copied in all the original email headers

May stop it, who knows
