excuse my naivity but what does a scammer get?

Post scam emails to warn other rental owners, or if you are not sure if an enquiry is genuine, put it up here and see what others think.

excuse my naivity but what does a scammer get?

Post by goosie »

I've been reading the posts on scam emails as we have just started to market our property. I now know what to look for in terms of a scam email content, but am not sure what the scammer thinks they'll get from you - is it your email address or is there some stage where you give out more details that can cause identity fraud?

sorry for being so naive! better to learn now than when its too late!

usually they offer to pay you by cheque, made out for more than the rental, and ask you to refund the balance. The cheque, of course, is fake
