I was sure from the beginning of that email that it was a scam, but felt by the end of it that it might be genuine. The interesting bit is that he's only asking for a period of a week, normally they ask for a much longer period. One of the crucial points about scams is that they don't bother to actually look at the property, so they often describe it incorrectly. If your property is an apartment then this may confirm that it's genuine.

I think with this one you are going to have to try it and see.

I can't believe that anyone would write:

Good Day, I am Mr Corlins Smith, I am working in a
construction company

It's about the 5th lesson in a Ladybird reader Good Day (teacher), I am Mr Bernard Tortoise, I am working on the farm with Mrs Smiley Spaniel, etc.
- much used in Nigerian primary schools (from personal experience in my Lagos alma mater: first thing in the morning, as bleary-eyed hung-over teacher crawled in to face another day with us, we had to stand up and sing: Good Morning, Dear Teacher, we hope you've had a happy day, full of sunshine and laughter dah di dah di dah).

And Corlins as a given name?

Ouch Mountain Goat

I thought the same, but it's the 1 week period that makes it different, unless they are now trying new tactics. I have to say it's not very usual for a construction company to expect its employees to find their own accomodation so maybe I'm back to SCAM

Please let us know

Not for their direct employees but if companies are employing contract labour - and many do - they're unlikely to bother to arrange accommodation for them. Expect the JCBs to be rolling up any time soon!
