I had actually decided that if it was rebooked (quite likely as it's my cheapest unit and a Fri/Sat night next week) I'd obviously refund them.

Just requested a copy of the contract... this booking was only worth £130 but so many of my bookings are with them now..

As expected I received cancellations yesterday from a couple of guests in their 80's with health problems. I then received a cancellation from a group booking and this morning I've woken to a very worried email from a another guest whose balance payment is due tomorrow. This guest is very worried an...

According to Jeremy Vine on R2 today a UK based holiday let company is reporting a 10% increase in bookings in the last week compared to last year. On the other hand I spoke to someone at booking.vom yesterday (a rarity in itself) and they reported that they are already seeing a high number of inter...

Corona virus

Hello people - I have been wondering about the impact of the Corona virus to my holiday lets in West Bay. I haven't had any cancellations yet but am expecting some any day. We have a significant number of returning guests who have now reached.. how can I say this.. a very decent vintage. They have b...

You could do both? Then the guest can see what they're paying. I've done that with my winter lets. The rent is x plus x for everything else.

42 hrs in and still standing!

I have so much to tell you all but not enough time! Needless to say - we're in. First Saturday c/o done. Hiccups with boiler, parking, keys, hoovers, grumpy guest - check Lovely guests, kids happy, dog really happy, key triumphs, figuring it out on my own and asking for help - check. Locals welcomin...

Thank you Beachcondo. You're right! I'm having a whale of a time! The information sent out before guests arrive is a really good idea. There is little information sent, available at arrival, on the website. I imagine that this is because the majority of the guests have been coming for years - in fac...

Thank you Nemo. I can't tell you how comforting it is to have you all out there.

Excellent advice about getting us sorted first! Roll on the kids going back to school on the 3rd September!

Good Morning. :D Yes Zebedee all bookings have been done by the current owner. I've been itching to wrangle the diary from them for weeks as not only are they the cheapest in the Bay but they also have a penchant for discounting. Hi Essar - - it's funny how sometimes you just need someone to say 'ye...

I can't seem to find what I'm looking for. The current owners use World Pay - and seem very happy with them. £25 a month plus 14p per transaction. This seems fair I think. Do any of you have experience of this company? I know longer term I probably need to spend more time looking at the options. I'm...

That is all wise, wonderful and funny advice. Many thank you's my friends. I can also give myself advice after today. Never, EVER go to Ikea in Southampton on a wet and rainy Sunday in August. Nearly 3 hours to get there, 45 mins queuing for meatballs (which gave my OH heartburn) and we've come home...
