Hi Drax -I use Promote My Place and it is easy to set up/use with excellent customer service. I like the layout of the websites although there are some who think they all look too similar. I see that as an advantage as potential guests, if looking at several including your own, will find them easy ...

Thanks for the responses. I had already been made to agree the switch away from Yapstone some weeks ago - a dirty great pop up insisting on it plonked itself over the first screen and demanded agreement before I go any further. I don't currently offer lower tariff prices elsewhere, but of course the...

OD Premium Partner

I have just received an email congratulating me on achieving Premium Partner status. (Probably because I'm one of only a handful of owners who haven't left them!) However, in order to reap the awesome benefits of this achievement I have to click a button that says: "Take the premium partner ple...

That shows initiative, but even better would be if more people knew about the StaySavr app. I am an owner and only just heard about it (on this forum of course.)
Sadly it's the potential clients that need to know about it, and use it.

I had an email from them today 'You spoke, we've listened!' Which prompted me to look at the site. I started setting up a listing some time back no when, but wasn't keen on the $199 annual fee considering the results you seem to be (not) getting, so just wondered if there's been any improvement? I ...

Julie, I don't think that you need to be afraid - it's OD (and Homeaway in general) that needs to be afraid! Increasingly, renters are aware of the excessive charges involved in booking through these dodgy websites. They use them for selecting a property and then try to find the selected property e...

Yep, there's always a risk with renting out, however you go about it. But sites like this and particulalry AirBnB just seem a risk too far to me, even though they seem to have the highest profile of all the listing sites these days.

Many thanks for the helpful response.

I guess I need to opt for on line booking and payment as well, which I have resisted so far.

Well, I'm pretty sure I paid by card last year, so they may well have kept the data.

Owners Direct - switching to commission basis

Hi all, I have reluctantly decided to continue with OD, but on commission basis rather than subscription, which I'm currently on. Please does anyone know, if I click the Renew button on their site, whether I will get the opportunity to switch? (I don't want to click it and then find I have just sign...

This is where this forum is so valuable to me. Without it I would have been stressing for ages over the need to comply with this demand, reluctant to click a button involving tax info. without understanding the implications.

Thank you to all the helpful contributors!

The reality though is there is now a duopoly for online lettings in the UK - HL/TA or HA and its subsidaries. We are STUCK and they know it This is the crux of the problem. I noted a few posts back someone looking at other options and finding them very expensive, but presumably they also have a muc...

Some advice; do it bit by bit, as you get to know what and how to include it then expand the site map. Start off with the basics. If you develop using PMP as I did, then you are likely to end up with no more than a dozen or so pages (unless you put in a lot of extra ones yourself,) so I don't think...
