Re: New Guest Logging Requirements
I haven't heard about a new system to register guests with the guardia civil – but the system up to now has always been paper based because the guest signature is important. The form is filled in by each guest and we log it into the online system.

Re: Electricity prices / guest usage rules / price hikes since booking
It was announced as a reduction – but for those on a variable rate. There are many on Facebook pages with a "fixed" rate in the same position as us – and seems it is an additional 15c per kw as there is such a high demand due to having a hotter summer than normal. We received notification ...

Re: Electricity prices / guest usage rules / price hikes since booking
I am finding it virtually impossible to find out what this new charge is based on. I have translated numerous articles in Spanish. Vera - it was announced as a "price cap" on the gas that is used to generate electricity. But am perplexed that it seems more like a levy. From what I can make...

Re: Electricity prices / guest usage rules / price hikes since booking
Hi Marks, Thanks for the reply. The thing is - up to last month our bills were no different to previous years: a fixed tariff, Happy Hours discount of anything between 15 - 35%. The new levy is variable and presumably is applied to all fixed rate/regulated tariffs. Interested in what owners are doin...

Electricity prices / guest usage rules / price hikes since booking
Just wondering what people are doing to get guests to use electricity responsibly. We can monitor usage via our online app - and can normally afford to overlook slight excesses. But now need to be more vigilant as holidays for this summer were booked before the energy crisis and price hikes. We've a...

perhaps they pretend to their friends that they are better traveled than they actually are with a house full of "souvenirs"?

Re: VRBO Non English Sites
In VRBO can put in your own spanish translation under the property section - "add another manual translation" ... but as your listing is migrated from booking.com perhaps no option - but worth looking ...

Re: VRBO asking for more payment details
I would phone VRBO and speak to your account manager - or the payments department. We get our payments promptly and not had any requests like this.

Re: travelling with pets
This article suggests I's ok for UK pet owners who have holiday homes in France to use an EU pet passport ... can the same process be applied in Spain?

I agree too and have made similar points. Hopefully VRBO will eventually realise that they are missing a trick by telling guests how great instant book and flexible cancellations are - which - though sounds atractive to guests - is normally not in guests best interest - especially for larger or more...

You would do well to contact rentals asking if they could accommodate a long winter let. Am sure many places would be very happy to have some income and could offer a good discount. Check how the property is heated in winter as many may be mainly set up for summer. The only thing that might get in t...
