Thanks for all your good wishes.

Not leaving Spain. Just no longer viable running a 2 bed business.

Left TA over a month ago.

Good luck to you all.

Adios!

Sadly, yesterday we closed the door on our B+B small business for the final time. I wish all on the Spanish forum a successful season, and hope that the economy moves in a better direction for us all soon. Thanks for all the interesting information on this forum that I have read with interest over s...

Bye Bye LMH

Sadly, yesterday we closed the door on our B+B small business for the final time.

I feel as though I have lost a limb!

As we no longer are involved in renting this a sad ´goodbye´ to all on LMH.

Due to the decision to close our B+B, we cancelled our S-H membership today. They are the only advertising site that offered to retain the outstanding fee we have paid in case we ever decide to register with them again; we had just paid 12 months renewal - actually wasn´t due until next week - with ...

Best site by far for us over the past few years.

Quiet this year so far BUT we rarely get enquiries - let alone bookings - from the site until Easter so, hopefully, things will improve from this weekend.

We are due to renew next month and will definitely be doing so.

Homelidays are still by far the best site for us - 2 enquiries/2 bookings this week. Funnily enough we never get Spanish enquiries from them - probably because they are not into the concept of B+B - mainly French and Dutch.

Alvaro - the S-H site says that they automatically inform you when the ad is due for renewal BUT, to be on the safe side I intend to notify them a month before that I will not be renewing and will keep their email reply ´just in case´ there is a problem.

We have been with Spain-Holidays for many years and they always performed well for us. Sadly though, this past 18 months they have bought no interest - just a few enquiries from people looking for a cheap deal - so we will not be renewing when our ad expires in September. We have also just failed to...

We registered with Media Hols last month when we decided not to renew our OD ad. We have had several enquiries and 2 bookings in the past 3 weeks from Media so are very pleased so far. Will not be renewing Spain-Holidays in September - they used to be excellent for us but have failed to perform at a...

We are east of Malaga and have lost all the Channel 5 channels too; everything else OK at the moment. We have Sky via a 1.3 m dish.

People expecting for a last minute discount - I blame TV and call it the ´Bargain Hunt´ effect where nobody ever expects to pay full price; you don´t have to give a discount but can´t blame people for asking. To be honest I don´t think you did yourself any favours by asking what their budget was - i...

They don´t seem to understand the words ´no thank you´.

80% of our bookings this year are from Homelidays.

By far the majority of our Homelidays guests come from France or Belgium but we also get a fair smattering of Dutch, German and Swiss visitors too. Only one UK booking though in all the years we have been with them.

The rain on Friday and Saturday was, without doubt, the worst we have ever experienced in our 10 years here. Unbelievable! Luckily we have escaped unscathed apart from a trench that developed down one of the garden banks and deposited all its earth at the bottom of our steps. Took some clearing up! ...
