It took 3 days but the pool finally cleared. Not helped by the fact that the idiot pool guy set the pump to re-circulate rather than filter! So frustrating being far away when problems happen!
Anyone want to buy a house in Greece? Right now would give it away. HAHAHAHA

Thank you all so much for your comments. They finally got in the pool on Tuesday. On Monday night they sent a very disgruntled/disappointed email about the lack of a pool, stating very clearly that they booked a villa with pool (!) so I can feel that the pool was a very big element for them. I immed...

How much to refund??
I have guests who arrived in our house on Friday evening. They will leave next Friday. The pool got a fault on Thursday evening and they will probably not get access to it until at least Tuesday. Any ideas of percentage refund? It is a 4 bedroomed property and there are 6 adults and 2 children stayi...

Pool Emergency
We painted our pool a few weeks ago and only filled it with water last week. Big mistake to leave things so late as guests were arriving on Friday but we had no choice. On Wednesday evening we turned on the pump only to find that it had a major problem. Pump eventually went back into pool on Saturda...

Thank you SO much for your comments. At first I was convinced that either I had a made a mistake with my description of the bathrooms facilities OR my housekeeper has not been keeping a close enough eye on things. I only get to the property once a year. But it seems that on both thoughts I was incor...

1 Star Review on HomeAway. Help!!
Hello all. I am a very infrequent "poster" here but over the past years have found fellow owners comments extremely useful. I do hope that someone can offer some advice on a particularly upsetting complaint and review from a guest that stayed at my house a few weeks ago. I do not live near...

Yes, Circe, your are right, I thought about it after posting my message - it is not correct to compare one country with another so probably I just need to have a chat with the launderette that I use. Spanish prices are a lot cheaper than Greece but I believe that a big factor is that the launderette...

Thank you guys for all your feedback! Our pool is smallish - about 7 x 5 metres. He goes twice a week, normally spending about 3 hours there prior to guests arrivals and one hour mid week, so I am realising that this is probably the minimum that I can ask him to do. Guests seem to love fishing out a...

Launderette costs.
Hello,
I use a local launderette to collect all my laundry, wash, dry and iron it.
I seem to be charged about 90 euros for 4 bedrooms ( sheets, pillowcases and towels) and 75 euros when only 3 bedrooms are used. Does this not seem a little excessive?
Looking forward to your comments.[/code]

Number of hours work per week to maintain a pool
Hello all! I do not live near to my rental property and the new guy that I have to look after the pool and garden insists that he needs 4 hours a week to maintain the pool - cleaning, checking chemical level, cleaning the surround, backwashing on occasions. Does this seem reasonable to you? During A...
