Thanks Richard - that's great.
It was their mistake and only came up by chance but so far they've seemed surprisingly prepared to accept it. But I've sent the link to our property manager in Portugal as they've been dealing with this on our behalf and might find it useful.

Incorrect fiscal value

We've just discovered that our property in Portugal has a higher fiscal value than it should have. The authorities have accepted it's a mistake and are apparently quite prepared to correct it (normally this takes up to 30 days but we expect it could be longer because of Christmas etc) Obviously the ...

Confusing OD phone call

Our OD listing expired last month and despite not knowing yet where we might advertise going forward, we decided not to renew with them. On Friday we had a phone call from them trying to encourage us to continue with our ad which was on the site for 12 years. The guy was very polite and at least gav...

OD have genuinely excelled themselves and responded to my message within less than 24 hours which is a first! They confirmed our ad won't be renewed. I'm not sure where we go from here in terms of advertising but it feels good to be rid of them, at least until we know for sure what we'd be signing u...

Our OD ad expires in a few days. We have auto-renewal turned off and there are no card details but I want written confirmation that the ad won't be renewed by some devious method we haven't thought of. In their T's & C's it says to tell them this through their 'contact form' but when you click o...

I've just received my wonderful 'September statement' from OD and in it, under 'News and updates' there's something headed ' Marketplace standards that benefit both owners and travellers' The link at the bottom takes you to the detail, which includes, ' Explicit requests to travellers to take bookin...

This from HA makes interesting reading as it will probably soon apply to OD as well: http://www.vrmintel.com/homeaway-cracks-language-vacation-rental-listings/ Looks like owners might soon have to remove links to their own websites and telephone numbers as they could be seen as attempts to direct tr...

I had to click on that green box in the pop-up - something like 'Set up Homeaway payments' - and it took me to the next page. Then I clicked on the back button and could see my inbox underneath a smaller box about signing up for online booking. I could then access the message I wanted to reply to an...

Telephone number is 0208 827 1998. I rang yesterday because their stupid pop-up about online booking was preventing me from getting into my inbox to reply to an enquiry. I was only on hold for about 10 minutes (as opposed to the 30 plus reported by many callers) before I spoke to the lovely 'Monique...

Lots of posts about theholidaylet but mostly within other posts. As others have said, it's a lovely site but hasn't done anything at all for many advertisers. We've been on there for a number of years and haven't had a single enquiry.

holidirect

I saw an ad for this site in the Portugal Resident (newspaper & online) and had a look. It's apparently been set up very recently by 2 women who live in the Algarve and seems quite nice. Interestingly despite being very new, they already seem to have more 'likes' on FB than theholidaylet. They d...
