We have an electric car and I'd have charged it in the summer when we're going self catering in the UK without thinking of asking. Surely if it's around a quid a day you don't need to clear that first? Ours is an apartment but had it been a house we'd be welcoming electric cars and including it in t...

Had our first booking!

Our website has recently gone live and we're about to list on OD, airbb and to advertise locally. Amazingly our first booking came from me happening to mention it on a photographic group, being contacted and the guest actually rather liking being in on it early and getting regular updates on the wor...

Thanks for your replies. I do prefer the look of the sewn ones but i've rotator cuff disorder and the worst thing possible for the shoulders is hand sewing. Since my dodgy joints has meant my husband doing pretty much everything doing up the apartment, I'm not going to ask him to sew 100's of labels...

Do you mark bedding?

One of those probably daft questions.

If your bedding and towels are serviced for you then have you stamped/labelled them? I've a stamp I use for my daughters uniform and I wondered about getting one for our apartment.

Multi week mid stay clean?

Hi All, It's a while since I've posted but our Scarborough holiday apartment is very close to go go go now. I've a query as to whether people generally include a mid break clean and bedding /towel change for bookings 2wks or over. If so is that weekly? Or do you charge extra for a mid stay clean and...

I thought I'd take a look at reviews of their duvets whilst I was waiting to see if anyone here had used them. Only a few but all 5* on amazon but I dug a little further and found this website http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews250846.html#Reviews And blooming heck I've never read so many awful revi...

Help has anyone got Linens Limited duvets?

Hi All, As recommended on here I'm about to order the Egyptian cotton 400 thread count bedding and their towel bales are such good value I'm getting them too. I was going to order duvets from soak and sleep and get the luxury soft as down ones (also from a recommendation) but these http://www.linens...

Wow these http://www.linenslimited.com/linens-limited-100-egyptian-cotton-400-thread-count-duvet-cover-white-double are great prices! I'm off to Ikea tomorrow I was going to get their duvet covers (Haxort 303.139.38) which are £35 for a double duvet and 4 pillow cases but I'm wondering whether to ge...

We're in a similar position, delays waiting for the sale to go through and then it'll be a mad dash to get everything done! We're over an hr away from our property so it'll be a lot of commuting, working around school pick ups and one of us staying over. It'll be more than a week for us cos it needs...

Looking around a local dept store yesterday I'm stumbled across the perfect colours in a striped blanket that looks both a bit vintage and a bit deckchair-ish :D ....and its machine washable!

Lots of good advice here - one to add is that you can get umbrellas with your logo/name/website on them relatively inexpensively, and then if they walk, at least you are still getting some advertising! I recommend the big non-folding type as they are less inclined to disappear... Cool idea! Actuall...

Thanks for your replies. WE're not doing a welcome pack as the cleaning company charges way over the odds for them but are leaving a bottle of wine and homemade cookies in the freezer to be baked. I want to leave tea, coffee & sugar plus various condiments. I'll look at Out of Eden, cant think w...

Questions about...loo rolls, tea & coffee & mattress

Hi All, I've a mixed bag of questions for you oh experienced ones :D Our apartment (when our new solicitor actually gets the sale sorted cos we've just had to change solicitors after a huge delay) will be in Scarborough UK. Sleeps 4-6, very family friendly, elegant décor but practical too. 1, we're ...

How strange I have those exact duvets in my shopping basket for the double bed/ sofa-bed! I looked at the pillows to match but they're so expensive so getting their 4 packs instead. Ours will have one double and one twin (sofa bed in the living room) so that's 12 pillows if everyone wants 2. Getting...

Thanks for all the help. I'm going to order the John Lewis ones and if they don't seem good enough I can always return them. After reading on here that sometimes people don't like all white towels cos they don't know which are who's, I was thinking of different colours for each room. White in the mo...
