In our Terms we state:
We reserve the right to refuse parties of more than 2 single sex guests, unless as part of a family unit. Single sex families and couples are more than welcome, but Sandy Palms is not party/stag-night accommodation.

that seems to have worked well for us, so far.

Thanks!

And yeah, we have stamped personalised postcards in the property, so they'll have the web address, but the postcards also give them (and anyone they send the card to) a bit of a discount on their next booking...

HA/OD

After many months of refurbishment and decoration we finally opened our doors to our first guest on Saturday. They have a 3 week booking (which they're considering extending by a week) and have already recommended the place to their friends. We've also received 2 bookings from HA/OD. The sums involv...

Ah, interesting, thanks. It looks like when the browser is made smaller below a certain size it defaults to the mobile template, but keeps the desktop settings. That'll take some thought, thanks.

Photos are waaaaaay ttooo large. Yes, that's something we definitely need to fix. We wanted to get a bunch of images up first, though, so we could check the general look and feel. In the album could not see any shots of the interior. This is very important for the customers. Yes, I mentioned in the...

New Scarborough Let

Hi all, We're nearing completion on our holiday let in Scarborough, and would appreciate some feedback on the website. Sandy Palms We know it's photo-lite at the moment, but these will appear over the coming weeks as the furniture arrives, and as we put up paintings and ornaments, etc. The ones that...

Thanks for your reply Gillian. I hadnt thought of the hassle for the cleaners having to clean around guests and their stuff. I guess we could leave spare bedding and towels for them to change the beds themselves which I hadn't considered doing (though we were having spares in case of any accidents i...

I go to the States a few times a year, and this has saved me thousands of pounds. Possibly more than £10,000. It's the main reason I stay with Three.

An agency ALSO does all the dealing with guests, chasing of payments, managing reminders, booking forms, contracts, and correspondence. I'm not saying it's good or bad value, but it's a lot more than just listing. Ah, yes - makes sense. We've decided against the agency route. 24% seems too high a p...

Welcome to LMH LeeH! In the member's section you will find that Essar has kindly written a virtual thesis on the subject, detailing the relative charges made by the listing sites. Find it here http://www.laymyhat.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=25559 I just flicked through that, thanks. And wow! What a f...

In Yorkshire, you might want to register on Yorkshire.com. No commission but a lot of traffic to your own website if you are happy to manage your own bookings.

Sykes is an agency, the others are listing sites; you need to decide which way you want to go! I included Sykes as the only thing they were offering for their 20% was a listing on their site and for them to list on the other listing sites for us. No management of the apartment, just bookings, which...
