Refund help please

Hi I really need some advice please. So a little while ago a couple booked a weeks stay. The husband put his wife's name on booking form as lead name and said it'd be easier to contact her. However it has been him that made deposit payment and two other installments (they didn't ask to pay like this...

I would set up the website with a blog attached asap, even if the blog for now is all of the content. It takes a while for your website to appear in searches, and a blog does help with that. Link it to a Facebook page, and your blog posts will appear on there too. Hi Helen. I think you are right I ...

I notice that you were specifically asking about setting up a Facebook page, rather than a website. If you're have a big and active social media following then your Facebook page is probably going to be a significant asset. For many of us, the Facebook pages for our properties do very little unless...

Thank you very much, that's helpful.

Does it automatically go on Trip Advisor? Or is this what the other person means that you have to pay more for that?
If you are on HL then you are automatically on TA too
Oh that is good, thank you!

This from a Commission owners perpective- 1. No, They put their card details in and request to book. You have to accept or refuse the request. 2. When you set up the advert there is an option to take a damages deposit. Guest pays this with final balance, HL keep the money & pay it back to guest...

1 - I don't believe that any site will book your property without you having some say in the matter. It's only if you hand over all your lettings to an agency, say James Villas for example that it is all taken completely out of your hands. 2 - Sorry, can't help here 3 - I think only Owners Direct h...

I am on subscription with TA, everything is more or less under my control.
Thank you; so if I wanted to be on HL and TA, I would pay more than the 3% to HL?

Questions about Holiday Lettings

Hi all. Questions about bookings on Holiday Lettings, anything you can help answer would be great! 1-When people book on the site does it book straight away or do you need to accept? 2-Do you have option to ask for damage deposit? And when is this paid? How do you pay it back? 3-If you get booking d...

Any chalet owners?

Are there any chalet owners on here? Not ski chalet or lodges but chalets that you find on UK sites (like a caravan site). Would love to hear your experiences or even take a peek at your website/ Facebook pages :)

I have not heard this and can't say I've read anything here either. Can you find the thread where you read that by searching and posting the link here? It sounds like an urban myth to me like the one about not being able to recycle teabags because one Council went a bit too far in its interpretatio...

Teabags - wrapped?

Hello, I have seen posts on here that say EU regs mean tea bags have to be wrapped. However whenever I have stayed self catering pretty much every time, there is either a tin of teabags (so no idea what even make they are etc) or a half used box of teabags. So I am confused - are there rules? Does i...

Decorating - colours/ themes

Ideas for a holiday chalet by the sea. I think I need to keep it quite modern rather than a ‘cottage-y’ feel. Nautical is obviously the first thing that springs to mind, but do people still like this or think it is a bit cliché? I will keep walls white and only bring colours in with accessories, bed...
