I am in the same situation as you with one of my properties. I am not surprised by the response of HA and their "we are all in it together" crap that they put out to their rental clients as a way of pressurising their advertisers is just what it is - CRAP. No wonder people do everything i...

HomeAway - Annual subscription but no income due to Covid-19

Hi All, I have a property in Tuscany, Italy. So I have been busy handling cancellations every week, I now only have three rentals left for this season, for the month of August. I pay by an annual subscription, which was paid in early March, I am now thinking why am I taking the full hit. Shouldn’t H...

Probably but you could say something on these lines to your next and future guests on there arrival until it's sorted. Pre empting a potential complaint from them. When the roadway is sorted reply to a review, any review even if it's not relevent to the specific review saying something on the lines...

Here in the UK work will often get delayed by snow being the wrong kind of snow or it's too cold or too hot and or dry. Perhaps use a similar excuse, It's the wrong type of sunshine at the mo for the workmen to repair the road!! We've been promised it will get repaired several times now and it's be...

Good advice there. I would agree not to worry too much. To put it in to context our guests this week have had a flood upstairs due to a blocked loo, trouble with a patchy Internet service and finally the electric tripped. They just laughed at the last problem when we rushed round and shouted 'I bet...

I wouldn't worry too much about the occasional bad review, if youre able to reply to your reviews do so and make it clear in your reply that the roadway repairs have been delayed for this that and the other reason and repairs will take place asap. Make sure that you say the road is NOT unsafe and p...

I think I might get a bad review!!

My apartment is hosted by Owners Direct and I am in a bit of a delima. Basically you live or die on the reviews posted by your guests experiences so it’s important that all the small irritants are removed to obtain the best feedback. We have a shared 3 km stretch of gravel road that should have been...

Thanks you !

That sounds like a plan, I have composed a message to send to my guest asking for his bank details and will make refund. I will ask for receipt confirmation. Then I will cancel the booking via OD.

Hi I have been caught by Owners Direct cancellation policy basically I have not set one up. A guest has cancelled for two week in early May. OD tell me I have only two options either a full refund or no refund, but highlighted if I chose the later then the customer would complain and they would take...

Hi Helen,

I am just outside the San Gimignano area and want my property to be associated with that area as I would attract more business. My advert would highlight that we are not in San Gimignano and less than a 10 min drive.

When you start to enter the street address select "Can't find your street? Click here to enter it manually" at the bottom of the suggested streets it offers. You can then enter your street address and mark its location on the map. Hi Mark, I have tried your suggestion but my property is s...
