Hello Hatters,
Just curious,do your guests leave tips? We have received money,ty notes,cakes,and the most recent penny(?).

A penny tip?

What does it mean when a guest leaves a penny (heads up) on a bedside table? The guests were from Canada.I have read that it is an old fashioned
gesture to indicate they will return. Any thoughts on this are much appreciated!

Thank you for your interesting response.My cottage,in Colonial Brach,Va is only 90 miles outside of Washington,DC. We get mostly short stays ,2-3 nights. Even holidays are usually only 3 nights,at most. Washington,DC workers do not get much time off and usually prefer to stay closer to home. Althoug...

Thank you, Essar,for your reply. So much to learn. I do like your rate structures. I am curious,however, about your 6 nights and more stays. Do you think more travelers prefer to book the longer stays? Thanks.
