In the U.S. we don't have separate bath mats for different people. Neither do we. In fact I had never given it a thought till I saw this post! Mind you, I guess it's different in our B & B as people would only normally be using it once or twice. In our "family room" en suite we have a...

Actually, virtually all our guests book via B.com, who make them aware of the tds but tell them they will pay that at the property. It's not included in the price. Therefore if I say I have got my guests through them will they assume it's been paid already?
It was easier on paper!

I'm sorry to say I agree with newtimber. Hard water stains can be removed quite easily with a good limescale product" Chuck a bottle of 39p Tesco distilled vinegar down and leave it overnight - much more effective, cheaper and more ecological than any of the so-called special limescale removin...

TDS - again!

I have registered OH now to pay tds electronically, but there is no record of what he has already paid on paper, three monthly and he can't now find his paperwork! Any idea how I can find out what he paid when? Also there is a question which I don't quite understand: " confirmez-vous n'avoir co...

End of season - for good!

Well, nearly end of season. This year that will be the end of September and also our last season as we are moving out of this rental after that into a small, temporary rental till we (hopefully) buy a little place of our own next year. My OH said he couldn't face another winter in this house. It was...

I just found it in the info from the Commaunite de Communes; some workers are exempt (I knew I'd seen it somewhere!), but only if working within or employed by the commune.
Thanks anyway.

Ouvrier and TDS

Hi all,
First time we've had an ouvrier (workman) stay on business for a couple of nights, do we charge TDS?
Not worried about the actual cost but want to get the facture right!
Thanks.

We are only seasonal because there is no heating in the rooms we rent out (we are renting this property) so we just close off that part of the house for winter! It won't affect us anyway as we are moving house in October, so this is our last season. The idea was just to make a bit of money to help p...

We get nearly all of our guests through B.com, who don't take tds but do notify the guest that it is payable. We just collect it at the end of their stay. It usually only equates to a euro or two, as it's mostly one or two night stays at 50 cents a night per adult, and I have sometimes forgotten to ...

As a chambres d'hotes wwe don't charge a damage deposit. Last week we had guests for one night and only found after they had departed that someone had wet the bed - luckily a bunk bed, not the superking bed, and it had two mattress covers. i would have appreciated being informed (accidents happen) r...

I'm getting annoyed when we say pets may be accommodated by request that it's only after they've booked and paid through b.com that they mention that by the way they have a dog, no request.
