I have one, although it is a few years old. It's a basic contrat de location saissonniere. Your guests are right to ask for one, as only a French contract is valid in court, should anything go that wrong. You'll need to check re updated legal requirements. I can't PM it to you - if you want to PM me...

Hi, I'm having issues with a TripAdvisor listing and have been hitting my head against a brick wall trying to get any guidance from them. Does anyone have a number for TA that I can call? The only one on the site is a US freefone that won't work from Europe. (and even finding that took forever.) :ev...

Me too.
I assume it was affected by cyberattack against an internet directory that knocked dozens of popular websites offline today.

Thanks. There was a technical glitch - PayPal admitted it. Perhaps it was just on the French site. Anyway, after a mere three weeks, they've fixed it. :)

PayPal refunds

Hi all. Is anyone else having problems with PayPal refunds? I haven't been able to refund a security deposit in almost three weeks. Paypal say it's a technical issue and they're dealing with it but it seems incredibly lax for a payments company to take so long. Making me nervous about accepting secu...

PayPal - policy update

Has anyone read through new PayPal policy update, coming in October? It includes fascinating new rules about not dissuading people from using PayPal, including: "In representations to your customers or in public communications, you shall not mischaracterise or disparage PayPal as a payment meth...

Hi, I used to advertise with them. Never got a serious inquiry, but they were very good to deal with and kept renewing my listing for free because, as they said, they wanted more Paris listings. (They still only have 7.) I dropped it because it was just not going anywhere for me. I'm pretty sure the...

Perhaps if you reply telling the, your surname is Pilate they may decide to book elsewhere?! That is brilliant. (The whole thread is wonderfully witty!! Everyone's on top form!) I too feel left out, what with Christmas approaching and not a single deity, son of deity, or even religious figure...

thanks all. The guests told me they had difficulty closing it from the first night, so I can only conclude that the bolt had already come off and the damage was gradual. As I said, they've stayed before and were always very respectful of the place so I just apologised for the inconvenience and we en...

Thank you both! I've sent an e-mail with a mix of both ideas - diplomacy and pointing out I know it was fine before their arrival. It's still under guarantee, so if the manufacturers accept it wasn't just abuse or undue force, it will hopefully be fixed. Fingers crossed! Okay, heading over there wit...

Damaged sofabed - advice please!

Hi, I would love some advice on how to tackle asking guests about damage. When the cleaners were changing the sheets on the sofabed, they found the folding mechanism badly damage - a screw came away, and the metal is buckled. I can't think how this happened without some considerable force. I know it...

Hi, I understand your problem, as heating costs can be high, but I would agree with Nemo's time frames. I doubt I'd even be back "home" by 9pm on holidays! And I wouldn't go to bed til after midnight, so would hate to be sitting in the cold all night. And stoves take a bit of time to kick ...
