Re: Bin collection

The bin collectors would not empty wheelie bins. In the torbay area the recycling waste is picked up by a lorry which is designed to empty the boxes provided.

Re: Damp problem

Thanks for your responses. We already have a PIV drimaster in the roof which helps with the upper floors but the lower floors still suffer from condensation which has been confirmed by a damp specialist. They suggested keeping the windows open to increase ventilation but it’s not something we can as...

Damp problem

Hello We have a holiday let which suffers from damp and mould mostly due to condensation caused by the guests as confirmed by a damp specialist. we recently had a guest who suffered an asthma attack and complained about small mould and damp patches. We have considered a dehumidifier but they need co...

Bin collection

Our bins are emptied on a Thursday but our change over is Saturday. This means the previous guests rubbish is still in the bins when the new guests arrive. Also it does not seem right to ask the guests to take the bins out in Thursday before the cleaners arrive on Saturday. We are remote owners so c...

Holiday Management Companies

Does anyone have any recommendations for holiday management companies in South Devon in the Paignton area? We use HHM and have not had a good service from them recently with a number of bad reviews due to poor standards of cleaning.

Managing agent advice

Despite having a good year last year for bookings this year at the moment we only have a handful of bookings and considering changing agents.

We currently use Cottages.com as we are based in Yorkshire and the property is by the coast in Devon. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks

Re: Bad Review

Taking into account your feedback I have revised our response below. I'm sorry to hear your stay at Rosehill did not meet your expectations. You are entitled to your own opinions however the majority of our reviews show that we keep the house to a high standard and is regularly assessed by our agent...

Re: Bad Review

Thanks again for the feedback. We have arrived at the property and everything is as we left it. We cannot understand why someone would make these comments potentially causing us to lose bookings. We even had a damp survey who confirmed the small spots were caused by condensation. We told the damp ex...

Re: Bad Review

I would also point out we stay for a few weeks during the winter to clean up after the season and the damp is barely noticeable. It seems some guests seem to intentionally look around for the smallest issues they can find and it’s usually on the late autumn when the weather is bad and they are stuck...

Re: Bad Review

Thanks again. See link below on damp in coastal areas https://damp-proofing.quotatis.co.uk/how-coastal-buildings-can-be-affected-by-damp/ Actually the damp has reduced significantly throughout our ownership following the improvements I have mentioned above. It is not noticeable apart from a few spot...

Re: Bad Review

Thanks again for the responses. Very helpful. There are actually only carpets in the Bedrooms and stairs. The rest of the property has recently restored wood flooring. I’m quite new to review sites and never really thought about responding to positive messages. Apart from thanking them what would be...

Re: Bad Review

Thanks both. The property is advertised by cottages.com who inspect the property annually. The property is prone to a small damp patches on the north side in the winter due to its location on the sea front and being built in the 1930s, hence we close the property during the winter. My thoughts on a ...

Bad Review

Hello We received the below review from a guest recently and would like to know if anybody has any tips on how to respond. We have spent a huge amount of time on the property redeveloping it over the years and it’s really disappointing to receive comments like this. Any helpful comments would be app...

Hi All

We are looking to instruct holiday home management (HHM) to manage and clean our property in Paignton. Has anyone had experience of using them?

Thanks

Hi All, I would be grateful for any recommendations for a good cleaner for our holiday rental in the Torbay area for weekly change overs? Thanks
