Thanks everyone. We are based in Sherwood Forest - a lodge surrounded by pine trees, so it's a pretty special place in winter and Christmas. Other lodges are booked up around here during the festive period so I think definitely charge slightly more than the peak season - will give it a whirl anyway!...

Christmas & New Year rates?

Hello everyone

We are new to the Holiday let business. We will be up and running just before Christmas.

We've had lots of enquiries to book between Christmas & New year. As a rule of thumb how much extra do you charge fro the festive period?

Thanks in advance

Homeprotect was the lower price
Intrasure was the higher one.

I did an online application with schofields and they said no. We have a holiday lodge, so assuming it was because of that. I’m just very nervous not having accidental damage cover.

Insurance... Accidental Damage Cover - Yes or No?

Hi guys

Do you take ‘Accidental Damage Cover’ with you insurance??

With cover it’s £480
Without it’s £230

Our excess is £250 and I’m just wondering if it’s worth taking it or not as it seems anything that would be replaced at most is £300 eg) a sofa

Any thoughts

TIA

I've requested a 'verification code' to be sent by mail four times now and still nothing. We are rural but other businesses in same location are on there..

Thanks for the information - in the end I actually went with a company called 'Homeprotect' . My quotes varied form £250 - £550 for practically the same cover.

The only reason I mentioned the discount was because I’d read on previous posts that ‘Out of Eden’ didn’t discount.... but they do. Was just trying to be helpful

RE: Insurance Company for a wooden lodge

Good morning

Can anyone recommend an insurance company in the UK for our holiday lodge - its a timber construction. Tried the link on here for Schofields and it was a no!

Thanks in advance
