Alan, As if this thread is not bad enough, what on earth are you doing here? This is not the 'anything goes' thread, it is not appropriate for you to wade in and have a go at anyone you have a grievance against. And please stop correcting spelling errors, it really is very tedious and unnecessary. ...

Whether it's December or July/August the same general rule of thumb applies: if you know there's a demand for what you're offering and you've the confidence, you'll find to your surprise that you can juggle people a bit so that you have fewer unused days. Totally agree. If there is a demand one doe...

MG, Pigs may fly. Pigs are certainly flying now, with massive chips on their shoulders. I sometimes refer to others as being precious. Need I say more? Your poll asks: Does this e-floor plan give you clear picture how our apartment looks lite? I don't know, you tell me, how lite should an apartment ...

Derek, My properties are in a rural inland part of South West France where there is almost literally no Christmas & New Year season; here there really isn't a Winter letting season at all. Due to my complete lack of knowledge and experience I haven’t voted one way or the other. Any vote from me ...

Tribalecho,

Joan wants to live by the sea and she has decided that Brittany is where she wants to be. Your Website has confirmed her conviction.

Thanks. It would seem I'm on track with my own pool. :D The grout is black. Is it OK to repeatedly shock the pool while it is in use or should I wait until the end of the season? We have increased the filtration times on the pool already and the water balance is reading OK now. I think today's clou...

What you are suggesting is illegal here in that New York introduced a law which gave families with children the right to be treated equally. The irony is that this was introduced because people were discriminating against them and charging more, not the reverse! Either way, I would not base any dec...

I have a very simple approach towards pricing. My larger cottage has three double/twin bedrooms and therefore it sleeps six. I don’t offer a discount if only four or five guests occupy it. If guests arrive accompanied by a couple of little children I supply cots but I don’t charge them a supplement....

Bellywobble, Dealing with a problem such as this is not possible at a distance, a personal visit to identify the exact problem is essential. Nevertheless one of two observations might be useful. The waterline tide-marks can usually be dealt with by scrubbing with a degreasing agent but please never ...

Joanna, I do take longer term rentals and will probably continue to do so but now that my tenant has left and I am back in the hustle and bustle of holiday lettings I am reminded how personally rewarding it can be. Meeting and getting to know new people every week or two. Seeing them appreciate thei...

Alan You've done enough pestering me for my website. When I need your advice about it, then I will be happy to show it to you. Most on this forum have seen it. Maybe they have seen it but I haven’t. The last thing I want to do is advise you on your website but I would like to see it. You criticize ...

Why are your other listings a secret, ….. You ask that and yet you keep all of your listings a total secret from the rest of us. Apparently the sauce for the goose is not the sauce for the gander. I can readily identify Pelly’s letting property from the pictures shown but you can’t. As they would a...

Or perhaps “Le gite comporte …..” or “Le gite inclut…..” ? There are so many alternatives.

We had an interesting experience this year. We decided we'd quite like to rent out a few weeks of our own home - it wasn't imperative and we decided to put it with one only of the listing sites to see what happened. If we had really wanted to rent it our for all the summer months we would have paid...
