I use Paragon Exact Image to take occasional system drive images. Had reason to use it when an MS update screwed up my system. Restoring the entire C drive was an absolute breeze. Highly recommend it.

Bob Your post made me remember that one can also have an internet service via satellite. I know someone who purchased his satellite dish from Germany, don't know if that point is significant, as they must also be available elsewhere. Does anyone use this system? Chianti A few years ago prior to ADS...

Shame about the trees. That's the downside with WDSL there has to be clear line of sight to the base station. Fortunately we are on the right side of a mountain to get line of site to the ISPs base station which is on a huge mast I would guess at least a couple of miles away, maybe more. A further a...

Musetta I'm fairly certain it will work here and we're lucky to have ADSL coverage. Do you know if your area has it, I was reading that some areas are having difficulties in getting ADSL? Actually, I would guess you won't have difficulties as you're in a village and they usually have coverage for b...

We have WiFi available in both our rental homes in Florida and Spain. In the US we use the router provided by the ISP, have security enabled and leave it on all the time. We give our guests the WEP key along with alarm codes, keybox codes etc when they pay the balance. In Spain I took over an old Li...

I don't know about those areas but Dream Interiors at Torrox Costa could do that for you. They have done a lot of work for me over the past few years and a neighbour has also used and been pleased with them. Hi BW Torrox Costa is easily doable, certainly a more attractive option than bring the cush...

Upholsterer in the Competa/Sayalonga area

It seemed like a great idea to remove and wash the covers of our corner suite during our visit to our Cortijo last week and make them all fresh and clean. Unfortunately due to a combination of shrinking a little and the material thinning they split after a couple of days use. As is the way this was ...

Paint shop - Nerja

Afternoon all Does anybody know where I can buy decent quality exterior paint in Nerja or thereabouts, eg Dulux Weathershield or something similar?. I have been told that the Dulux Centre that was in Torre del Mar, or was it Torrox has recently closed down. Last trip of the year to our finca this we...

Will you be partying at the Nerja feria this week then? We fly over Sat for a weekend but think we'll be avoiding Nerja this time round.

Golf courses in CDS

Golfing is one of the bugs that I have never been bitten by. But one of our inquirers has asked about golf courses within reasonably easy reach of our Finca in Sayalonga. Although not something that I have searched for I did notice one on the A7 near the Ingenio commercial centre. Are there any othe...

Kids do the most unexpected things sometimes :? I have three and they never fail to suprise me. Ruth  You're right, mine are grown up and yet still pull the pull the occasional surprise. Personally I think a single thin electrified electrified wire would work a treat from both eliminat...

No smoking inside in both our properties. In fact our Ts&Cs spell out grave penalties if guests are caught smoking inside.

Outside is fine but please use ashtrays provided etc. I am partial to the odd holiday cigar but wouldn't dream of smoking it inside either property.

Bellywobble, we bought the place in Jan this year and are slowly bringing it back to it's rustic glory. You wouldn't believe the colours the internal walls had been painted, purple, lilac, orange, green, blue and none of them subtle shades with matching painted tables and lights. It was awful but it...
