Looks like this one is going to run longer than the 'towel' debate! My own view, is that I wouldn't really consider an email from a person / company that was 'manually' typed, personalised and had proper 'reply' details (rather than a 'click here' button) as 'Spam'. I'd call this proactive marketing...
