My experience so far with the introduction of this Service Fee:

- less enquiries
- only enquiries for 3 days stays (the minimum accepted)

It seems that this fee is really puting enquirers away, at least those loooking for longer and therefore more expensive stays.

HA/OD/VRBO have two different scenarios that are confusing. If an owner has on-line booking enabled a traveller can make a request to book; an owner has 24-hours to decline or accept the request. For sometime now one can only insert a reservation on the VRBO calendar by providing the email of the guest. I find it completely abusive but it makes sense under the strategy to identify bookings made through them - by crossing this info with enquirers' details - and charge both owner and traveller...
