Do you think it's getting close to the stage where we won't be able to satisfy these 'punters' any more? I think you'll always find people who moan. Given the amount of umbrellas we've had wrecked by Billies, I gave up supplying them and built a cabana instead which others may wish to think about.....

Strange how trends change. In 2008 most of our bookings were from France but in 2009 only 2 all year. This year, out of the 12 bookings we currently have, 7 are from France. Brenda, are most of your French bookings coming from 'Spain Holiday' or do you have other avenues? Hardly any 'furriners' for...

There's nothing wrong with three diaries, although you can (depending on your e-mail client) run three separate calendars electronically. Alternatively, you can advertise the properties on a template site such as Independent Owners which gives you the facility on the 'availability' page to keep elec...

Leaving work aside (and many people are self-employed, or freelance, or have a job that otherwise doesn't fit into the traditional "weeks off" holiday pattern), it's incredibly useful for weather, events, restaurant reviews, local activities etc etc . I'd be surprised if your nocturnal in...

Does anyone know how to find out if you have any interesting birds in your area that would appeal to bird watchers? We have some eagles and other birds of prey, plus some that are similar to the bird on their landing page above but I've no idea as to whether ours is a property that could claim to be...

Helen - missed that one. Its seems odd that they'd ignore your registration as I was under the impression it applied to all European companies offering this 'service'.

For those of you receiving automated messages to landline numbers, are you registered with TPS?

Good for you. I had one booking last year which was repeated this year and ..... nothing! Still, its more than paid for itself with just the one booking.

Brenda,

strewth. That must be the longest dry period over winter for many a period - much needed.

Axarquia finally on the tourist trail. Who'd have thunk it?

I don't understand what's going on this year as we've had a sudden rush (from the agency) and April's pretty much solid as is May which is the first time its happened, not that I'm complaining as we get early bookings before the water shortages occur in the summer.

In terms of planning its not easy. Last year I increased the size of the depositos (water tanks) to 5000 litres but given the complete lack of rain I'm going to instal an additional 8000 litres plus I've got a local bloke who can deliver 4000 litres of spring water - provided the spring doesn't run ...

Please don't blame (or flame) me if I'm wrong, but I think that the scam referred to in those links and elsewhere happened a couple of years ago, and VistaPrint have cleaned up their act since then. I have "bought" many free items from them (.co.uk) over the last year, paid my inflated po...
